Green Haven began as the name of our home.

When my husband’s grandmother first visited our little green house and garden, she smiled and called it “Green Haven.” The name stayed with me. As a lifelong admirer of Anne of Green Gables, I had always loved the tradition of homes with names that reflected the lives lived within them. Green Haven felt right.

In 2024, we began creating the garden that would become the heart of Green Haven—a cottage garden filled with flowers, herbs and berries for our family to enjoy. As the seasons passed and the garden flourished, I found myself gathering armfuls of blooms to dry and preserve. I began experimenting by placing them inside lockets, arranging miniature bouquets beneath glass domes, and even preserving delicate petals with 23-karat gold leaf.

That curiosity soon grew into a passion for creating. Vintage jewellery, botanical art, crochet, beaded embroidery, and other fibre arts all became part of the creative journey. Each new skill opened another door, and each piece became a way of preserving the beauty found in nature and giving forgotten materials a new life.

Today, Green Haven is more than a jewellery studio. It is a creative space inspired by gardens, vintage treasures, and the simple joy of making something with your own hands. Through handcrafted pieces, workshops, and community projects, I hope to encourage others to explore their own creativity, regardless of their experience.

An important part of Green Haven’s vision is making creativity more accessible. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to create, and I am working toward initiatives that connect surplus textiles, craft supplies, and creative materials with people who might otherwise be unable to afford them.

At its heart, Green Haven is about slowing down, finding beauty in the natural world, honouring the past through vintage materials, and sharing the joy of creating something meaningful together.
